Caring for Our Community

Mondays 2-4pm • Thursdays 9-11am

Common Threads serves our community in a tangible way each week, providing a hot, sit-down meal served with a smile. Our FREE clothing program is available for everyone in need.

Our clothing donation chute is OPEN for donations Monday-Thursday, 7am-4pm. CT will also gladly receive toiletries, bedding, towels, and outerwear to distribute to those in need. Please note that we cannot accept housewares, furniture or decor items.

We also accept grocery receipts from Butcher Boys Grocery Store. These are submitted and exchanged for $50 gift cards which are used to purchase groceries for our meals and soups! Just drop your receipts off at the Welcome Desk or the office.

Common Threads is closed on statutory holidays.

Volunteer Roles Needed

We are searching for 6–8 additional volunteers for Monday and/or Thursday, specifically for the summer, as well as 4-6 soup makers (or more) who are eager to cook soup on a regular basis as soon as possible.

The outline for soup makers is as follows:
It is up to the soup makers to decide how frequently to prepare soup. A monthly, biweekly, or weekly soup prep is done by some volunteers. We would be happy to discuss options! Although having your food-safe is not required, the online course is always available. Once finished, we will reimburse the expense.

The type of soup (e.g., chicken with rice, beef barley, gluten free, vegetarian, pork, etc.), the maker's name, and the date the soup was made should all be noted using a label or masking tape. Drop-off times are during church hours, on the weekends when services are held, or during CT.  We can supply containers.

General Help:
Volunteers will set up and tear down the Arbour for our Common Threads Guests. This includes preparing and packing donated food items, doing clean up and dishes during serving time, clothing and closet preparation, and interaction with Guests.

Anyone in need! CT was created to compassionately serve and care for ANYONE in our church and community in need of food, clothing and/or care.

Visit Common Threads during open hours if you, your family, or someone you know is in need. You can get a free hot meal, clothing for all ages, bakery goods, Food Bank pantry supplies, friendly smiles, and nice conversation. On rare occasions, when volunteers are available, we can also give haircuts.
We take pride in our occasional collaborations with local non-profits and businesses to offer in-season fresh vegetables.

Our clothing donation chute is located by the back door to the Arbour building and is open for donations during office hours Monday - Thursday 9am-4pm. CT will also gladly receive jackets and sweaters to distribute to those in-need.
