Be a part of the Team!

We all have different skills, gifts, abilities and passions...and we believe everyone has something to share! Serving is one of the best ways to get more out of church, and to discover who God made you to be! By being a part of a team, you get to meet new people, learn new things, and see lives changed! Who knows...maybe that life changed could be your own!

There are hundreds of different opportunities to volunteer at VAC, and there's a place for YOU! Not sure where to start? Scroll down and have a look! Or, fill out a Connection Card and we'll get in touch!

**Please note that all in house volunteer opportunities are currently suspended as our campus is closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Please contact us at info@vernonalliance.org if you'd like to connect!

Common Threads serves our church and the community by providing food, clothing and care to those in need. Volunteers sort and prepare donated clothing, serve food, greet, and more.

Compassion & Care Ministry provides tangible support in many areas, and volunteer opportunities include: preparing freezer meals, providing baked goods/refreshments for funerals & events, knitting prayer shawls, hospital/shut-in visitation, and other supportive areas.

With a campus as large as VAC, there are a variety of roles to fill to keep our yard and building prepared for ministry! From odd jobs, routine maintenance, and cleaning....to landscaping, snow removal and custodial support...there's a spot for any willing handyperson to help out!

We're always looking for people to help out around the office with odd clerical and administrative jobs! If this sounds like something you'd enjoy, we'd love to hear from you!

It takes a team to produce weekend services and other events around VAC! There are a number of different "behind the scenes" opportunities to be involved including audio recording and sound, lighting, videography, media presentation, photography and more! Hands on training provided!

Route 6 and Reign are our ministries that are specifically designed for students in grades 6-12.

We strive to create a place where every student feels welcomed just as they are, and our hope is each student can encounter the life-changing difference that Jesus makes in a life. If you are passionate about Jesus and the emerging generation, then this is the place for you!

There are opportunities to serve as a small group leader, greeter, worship band member, and more!

VAC Kids is our weekend ministry for grades K-5 where our teams create specific and exciting environments for kids to discover God.

Volunteers generally serve during weekend services in areas like sign-in, greeting, story-telling, small group leading, and more! If you love kids and want to help them discover God, we'd love to help you find a place at VAC Kids!

VAC Tots is our weekend ministry where children aged birth to preschool can discover God through fun, relevent learning and caring relationships with peers and volunteers. There are several areas to serve:

Nursery/Toddler Room: We believe our nursery is "a mission field in diapers", and these volunteers are encouraged to pray, sing and play with these littlest ones in a quiet and safe environment.

Pre-School Rooms: For children aged 2-4, our pre-school rooms provide opportunities to lead Bible stories, teach skills, coordinate sign-in and more! This opportunity is also suitable for students!

Our Weekend Hospitality Team is the first "face" and point of contact for anyone entering the doors of VAC! If you like to make people feel welcome by saying hello, answering questions, and helping them get connected...then this is the place for you! There are dozens of ways to volunteer!

Greeter: Welcome guests as they enter the building
Usher: Help guests find a seat, collect offering, answer questions
Coffee Service: Prepare and serve coffee/tea before and during services
Welcome Desk: Collect various community donations, answer questions, facilitate event sign-ups
Communion Preparation/Servive: Prepare, organize and/or serve communion elements once a month
Community Connection: Provide and/or prepare refreshments for monthly Community Weekends

Worship & Arts at VAC endeavours to include a wide variety of the arts in telling God’s story. A primary language to tell God’s story is music, but many other art forms can be represented including dance, drama, decor, video, photography, visual/digital art and more.

If you are a singer/musician and would like to audition to be a part of the VAC Worship Team, please take the time to fill out this form.

If you are interested in being involved in any other area of the arts, please contact Kim.

Young Adults seeks to connect the ages of 18-34 with a solid foundation of community, teaching, and skills for the next chapter in life. Along with discovering Jesus and the difference He makes in their lives, Young Adults is a place of safety and connection, where relationships can be formed.

If you're interested in volunteering as a home group leader or event coordinator - we'd love to hear from you!
