Phishing  (fraudulent schemes to acquire personal information from others) is now common in every mode of communication we use—from email to texts to telephone calls . Since scammers often pretend to represent reputable organizations like churches, it’s important to stay vigilant. If someone should contact you claiming to be from Vernon Alliance and ask for personal information, take time to verify these requests by contacting us directly by phone.  Being informed is your best defense against scams! Vernon Alliance or its staff members will never text or email you asking for PINS, passwords, credit card numbers, bank account information or social insurance numbers. Nor will they request that you purchase gift cards or click on an attachment to provide personal information.  Please stay vigilant, and when in doubt, give us a call to check!
